After doctors from Lucknow’s King George's Medical University were forced to end their indefinite hunger strike on Monday night, services at several medical institutes across the state remained disturbed on Tuesday.
KGMU junior doctors wanted to remain on complete strike on Tuesday but the varsity officials convinced them not to do so as patients were not responsible for their forceful eviction. While in Kanpur doctors returned to work, reports from Meerut and Allahabad said medicos would continue with their strike.
The doctors are on strike seeking the cancellation of the UP post graduate medical exam. The exams scheduled for March 31 would now be held on April 21. But, the doctors want it to be cancelled and have announced not to celebrate Holi.
