City trader Abhay Singh, 34, who had been missing since Monday night, was found dead in his car under mysterious circumstances in Barabanki’s Zaidpur area on Tuesday morning. He was apparently poisoned.

Police said initial probe suggested that the victim had committed suicide by consuming poison.

But Singh’s family apprehended foul play in the case. Vikas Nagar station officer Ashok Yadav said the victim had taken the extreme step apparently due to family reasons.

He said Singh l eft his Vikas Nagar residence for his under- construction house in Amrapalli Yojana near Dubagga after a spat with his wife on Monday night.

The station officer said his younger brother Amit also accompanied him to Dubbaga, but the latter returned late at night leaving the victim there.

He said Singh had been missing since then.

“We approached the Zaidpur police and informed about them about the body found in the car there,” said the station officer.

He said the police are further probing the case.
