The police found the body on September 29 after the arrest of two accused. However, the cops are puzzled as boy’s father Ratnesh Pandey had received ransom calls even after the recovery of the body and the callers claimed the boy was still alive.

The call details show the boy’s father received atleast 17 calls between October 2 and 4 demanding ransom for the boy’s safe release. However, the victim’s family, who has still has not come out of the trauma after losing the boy, is not revealing anything over the issue when approached by HT. They however, have informed the city police about it.

The city police and special task force (STF) sleuths are continuously tracking the caller through electronic surveillance but failed to arrest him so far. The caller’s call details revealed that most of the ransom calls have been made from unknown places in Sitapur, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri. The details even suggest that the caller came to Lucknow twice for a short period and stayed somewhere in Charbagh and Qaiserbagh.

The call details suggest that the caller has been continuously changing his location from Lucknow to Sitapur, Shajahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri.

The caller’s locations have been traced even at some places in Kanpur, Ramabai Nagar, Mathura, Agra and Jhansi before the boy’s kidnapping on September 20.

The police probe so far has also confirmed that the caller has procured the SIM on fake identity of one Vijay Kumar Mishra of Mirzapur. The investigation agencies’ primary suspect is one of the three accused Ravindra Kumar Sonker who is yet not arrested.

It may be mentioned, the boy was kidnapped from outside CMS RDSO branch school when a teenager Pawan Kumar, the boy’s neighbour, allegedly took him along. Pawan has already been arrested and he has confessed that he along with his two friends Mukesh Kumar Kol and Ravindra Sonker alias Guddu had kidnapped the boy for ransom. The trio murdered the boy after taking him to Mirzapur and disposed of his body in jungle area.

The boy’s decomposed body was recovered after arrest of Mukesh Kumar Kol on September 29, however the third accused Guddu is still absconding and carries reward of Rs. 5,000 on his head.
