Rape accused UP ex-minister surrenders in Etah court

Former Uttar Pradesh animal husbandry minister Avadhpal Singh Yadav , who is wanted in a rape case, surrendered in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) Pratibha Saxena in Etah on Thursday.

Avadhpal, who had been absconding, is charged with abducting and raping a woman on June 4, 2011 and thereafter on September 19 and 20.

Another rape in UP
A day after a woman was sexually assaulted at Mau bus station, a 35-year old woman was raped by two persons near Robertsganj railway station, Sonbhadra, on Wednesday. The victim was waiting to catch a train Robertsganj railway station with her husband.

Teacher gets jail
A Kerala court has sentenced a madarsa teacher from Kasargode to 22 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old girl in 2008. The teacher threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. The case was detected during a counselling in her school.

2 held for rape
A seven-year-old girl was raped by two men in Koop village of Rampur, UP. Her family members spotted the men fleeing after the dastardly act and nabbed them.  MP Jaya Prada demanded strict punishment for the accused.
