Police suspect that the woman had been murdered somewhere else and her body was dumped there to conceal the crime. An FIR of murder has been lodged in the case.

Mohanlalganj sub-inspector (SI) Ram Adhar said the body was found lying on the roadside near Pursaini village. He said the village chowkidar Ram Kishun was the first to spot the body and inform the police around 8:45am. He said the body was lying at a secluded spot around 50 metres away from the main road.

“The woman seems to be of very young age. Her clothes suggest that she belongs to an affluent family. A blunt object was apparently used to inflict the injury on the head and face. We have already sent the body for post-mortem to affirm the cause of death,” the SI said.

Reportedly, the woman’s identity has not been ascertained so far. “We tried to confirm her identity by circulating the information in nearby villages, but nothing of substance came out,” Adhar said. This suggests that the woman hails from somewhere else and her body has been intentionally dumped here to conceal the crime.
