Upset with her husband and in-laws, a woman set herself ablaze along with her three-yearold daughter in Sathwara village of Gosaiganj on Monday.
The deceased Tripti, 30, was married to one Ajai Prakash, a teacher in the village. After the death of her father-in-law three months back, Tripti had been asking Ajai to leave the Gosaiganj house and shift to her parents’ place in Sandila.
This demand often led to quarrels between the couple. Instead of convincing Tripti, Ajai and his family used to accuse her of attempting to break the family. At times, he even used to beat her up.
On Monday too, the couple had a heated debate over this issue and Ajai reportedly hit Tripti again. Upset with the attitude of her husband, she locked herself and her daughter inside a room and set herself ablaze.
Tripti’s family lodged an FIR alleging that she was being harassed by her in-laws.
