IIT-Bombay was hypnotised on Tuesday.

As part of their annual cultural festival, Mood-I organised in partnership with Hindustan Times, Professor Nagesh, as he calls himself, conducted a mass hypnosis of 200 students.

The largest cultural festival in Asia had several events lined up for Day 2 with comic hypnosis and Talat Aziz’s concert being the highlights of the day.

“The hypnosis session was super cool. It was amazing to see such a chunk of people obeying one person’s commands. It was a very entertaining 30 minutes,” said Nitesh Jhawar, who watched the show.

The day had 25 competitions, workshops and games for the 15,000 visitors who attended the festival at the Powai campus.

The afternoon saw the crowds enchanted by the jugglery of Victor Rubilar, a freelance footballer, as he performed astounding feats with footballs.

Another attraction was the Capoera, a Brazilian dance form, which combines martial arts with the street dance. To add a serious tone, a panel of cricket experts including Ayaz Memon, Boria Majumdar and Sanjay Manjrekar debated ‘Should senior players stay out’. Talat Aziz enchanted the evening with ghazals in the starlit open-air amphitheatre.

“Contrary to perception, a lot of youngsters enjoy ghazals and I am here today mainly for that,” said Sheetal Chitale, a student.
