A 17-year-old Bandra girl, Emaan Shah, disappeared while out shopping on Oxford Street, London, on June 10, a few hours before she was due to board a flight back to Mumbai. She was on a two-week vacation in the city with her family.
Shah, a student of Sathaye College at Vile Parle, vanished around 2pm.
Shah was vacationing in London with her parents Tanvir and Kulsum and younger siblings, Deen and Jehan.
On Saturday, the London Metropolitan Police, who are investigating the case, contacted Shah’s college principal seeking more information about the teenager.
“We received an official communication from the London police. We are trying to give them as much information as possible. Our teachers are trying to identify her friends and access more information,” said principal Kavita Rege.
The college has sent across documents such as proof of identity and residence, and her college application form.
Speaking to HT from London, Shah’s father, Tanvir, said, “The police are checking closed circuit television camera (CCTV) footage along Oxford Street. That’s all I know right now.”
Shah’s friends said her father runs an advertising company in Mumbai, while her mother is an interior and fashion designer.
The official website of the metropolitan police, London, states: “Emaan was wearing a black jacket with a Manchester United logo on the chest, grey trousers and black and white trainers”.
