The Kalamboli police have arrested a 19-year-old for murdering his 24-year-old aunt.

Sunilkumar Ola, 19, allegedly slit his aunt Sumitra Devi’s  throat, burnt her face beyond recognition and then gave her electric shocks. He told police he killed Sumitra as she did not respond to his advances.

Ola’s aunt lived with her husband at Parth housing society in sector 35 of Kamothe.

KT Vidhate, senior inspector of Kalamboli police station, said “Sumitra and her husband Vidyadhar Bhasu, 25, came to Kamothe from Rajasthan three months ago following which Vidhyadhar got a job at a firm in Andheri. A few days later, his nephew Sunil came to live with them claiming to be looking for work. However, he told the police that he had come as he and Sumitra had been in a relationship for the past two years.”

Vidhate said, “Vidyadhar suspected that his wife and nephew were having an affair and, hence, asked his nephew to return to Rajasthan. Sunil left home on October 28, but did not go to Rajasthan.”

Vidhate said, “On the same day, he turned up at Sumitra’s house, when Vidyadhar was not at home. He wanted to get physically intimate with Sumitra but she refused. This incensed Sunil and he slashed Sumitra’s throat with a knife, killing her.”
