3 kids suffocate to death inside car at Bhiwandi

A school holiday turned tragic for three children who suffocated to death in a car parked at a warehouse in Bhiwandi.

Bodies of Dilip Amar Mazee, 7, his sister Ruby Amar Mazee, 5, and their friend Raj Vinodsingh Soni, 6, were discovered inside a Mahindra Verito at Global Gallery Pvt Ltd, a car warehouse, after a daylong search by their parents and police.

The children were playing near their homes in Kalher Pada at Bhiwandi on Wednesday afternoon, and when they did not return home till evening, the parents looked for them in the neighbourhood. “The parents filed a report after they could not trace the children till late in the evening,” said Vijay Khare, assistant police inspector at Narpoli police station.

Enquiries about the children led the police to the godown, where they found the bodies ins-ide a car at 2am on Thursday. The children must have entered the car, which got locked after they shut the doors, said the police. The bodies were sent for a post mortem, which revealed that the children died of suffocation.

The police have arrested the godown’s manager Amit Sakpal and even booked the director Sunitkumar Malhotra under various sections of the IPC.
