Listing his 10 points of reference, BJP leader Vinod Tawde said that apart from the irrigation expert, the SIT should include people from different backgrounds. It wants the team to look into the bank accounts of the stakeholders and find out how the rules were bypassed to favour people.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray said: "The SIT should complete its inquiry within six months. As a trustee, the governor should exercise his power to safeguard the interests of the people." He also gave the 17 points that the team should consider while conducting a probe.

Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and Irrigation Minister Sunil Tatkare have come under the scanner owing to the alleged irrigation scam, believed to be one of the biggest in recent times.
