The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed and also cancelled its own decision of appointing Bhalchandra Shirsat as a party leader in the BMC, to lead its 36 corporators.
The Mumbai BJP chief said that the party high command stayed the order.
On Monday evening, Mayor Shraddha Jadhav felicitated him by presenting bouquet in her office at the civic headquarters near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
Jadhav said that she has received second letter from the Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit saying that the appointment of Shirsat as a group leader in the BMC has been cancelled on some technical reason.
Purohit told the Hindustan Times that the high command has ordered to stay the decision of the Shirsat’s appointment. “We have not discussed the issue about the appointment so hold the decision,” said Purohit. He did not revealed about the specific name of the high command, said, “I don’t want to go into that detail.”
The mayor too did not commented on the issue.
Shirsat said, “The decision of appointing me was taken by party and also cancelled by the party. I don’t want to comment on it. I will just obey my party orders.” “Shirsat is nothing but a victim of internal party politics,” said a BJP corporator on condition of anonymity.
