The Juhu police on Friday conducted an inquiry after they learnt that cash had gone missing from Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow. Although no case was registered in connection with the incident, a 'discreet probe' was conducted to ascertain if it was a case of theft or the cash had been misplaced, police said.

According to the Juhu police, some cash had gone missing from the actor's Juhu bungalow after which he informed the Juhu police. The officers refused to disclose how much cash was reported to be missing by the actor.

The police said they questioned Bachchan's servants, but ar yet to zero in on any suspect.

When asked if anybody was detained for interrogation in the matter, the police said no detention had been made.

"We conducted a probe. The matter was not reported as a theft case. We were told that some cash had gone missing. Hence, we did not register any case," said an officer from Juhu police station.

The police said that Bachchan was not sure if he had misplaced the cash in his bungalow or while travelling.
