The three fraudulent withdrawals worth Rs. 25,000 carried out using the debit card of Kanjurmarg-based bank employee Unmesh Kulkarni have been traced to an ATM kiosk at Mahim.

Hindustan Times had, on Thursday, reported that three withdrawals were carried out using Kulkarni’s debit card, even as his card was in his wallet. It is suspected that his card was cloned.

Kulkarni said, “I approached my bank to check the spot from which the three withdrawals were carried out. I have been informed that the withdrawals were made from an ATM kiosk near the Sitladevi temple at Mahim.”

Kulkarni has now approached the Kanjurmarg police station. An officer from the police station said, “Now that we have the details of the fraudulent transaction, we will ask the bank to help us with the CCTV footage, using which we can identify the accused.”

RS Wakale, senior inspector, Kanjurmarg police station, said, “As the investigations are on, I cannot reveal any further details.”

The cyber cell of the Mumbai police has also been asked to assist in the investigations.
