Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, who has allegedly been receiving death threats over the phone, made out an application to the Oshiwara police station on Wednesday about the issue.

Meanwhile, director-producer-actor Karan Johar, too, allegedly received a threatening text message three to four days ago. The anti-extortion cell of the crime branch is investigating the case.

The Oshiwara police who are currently investigating Kapoor's case have provided security cover to the producer. The police said that an unidentified person has been calling Kapoor and threatening to kill him at his residence.

Kapoor told the police that the caller mentioned a robbery that had taken place at his house.

"We are probing to zero in on the caller in Kapoor's case. There are no developments so far, however, our investigations are on," said Naseer Pathan, senior inspector, Oshiwara.

An officer from the anti-extortion cell of the crime branch said they haven't received any orders and hence no investigations have taken place as yet.
