In a bid to ensure that the Mumbai police receive feedback from citizens in the form of either complaints or suggestions on a regular basis, the police have put up around 900 complaint-cum-suggestion boxes at various places in the jurisdiction of all police stations.

According to the officials of the Mumbai police, the boxes have been put at police stations and police chowkies, as well as cinema halls, BEST depots, museums, schools, colleges, banks, post offices, madrassas, hotels, temples and railway station subways among others.

In the jurisdiction of each police station, there are nearly 10 or more places allocated for these complaint boxes. Officials said the boxes would be checked daily and the suggestions and complaints would be forwarded to the department concerned.
