The Agripada police on Monday moved an application seeking the transfer warrant of Siraj Khan, who has been arrested in the photojournalist gang-rape case, in another case of kidnapping and molestation a 50-year-old woman.

According to the complaint registered with the Agripada police, the accused had tried to rape a 50-year-old tuberculosis patient on August 19. The police claimed Khan pulled the woman into the shrubs at the Shakti Mill compound in Mahalaxmi, where she had gone to attend nature’s call.

Although he tried to rape her, the woman’s daughter came to her rescue and started screaming. However, soon after the incident, the woman died, following which daughter filed a complaint with the police.

While the police have booked Khan for kidnapping and molesting the woman, they have sought a transfer warrant to arrest him and interrogate him with regard to the TB patient’s case after the completion of the investigation in the gang-rape case.

The court has now scheduled the hearing in the application for Tuesday.
