A young woman in a plain, orange sari, wearing a nose ring and a bindi, stares coyly at her reflection in the mirror.
The portrait is of Susheela Hebbar, wife of late artist Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar, and is part of a retrospective of the legendary artist's works currently on at the
National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA).

The month-long exhibition showcases 101 paintings, serigraphs, drawings and sculptures and has been organised to commemorate Hebbar's 100th birth anniversary year. It has previously been shown at the NGMA in Kolkata and Delhi.

Hebbar's daughters, Rekha Rao and Rajani Prasanna, have curated the show, gathering the paintings from private collectors, galleries and museums across the country over the past eight months.
