The third merit list for degree colleges across the city saw only a slight drop in cut-offs for self-financing courses, leaving many students disappointed.

At HR College, the BAF cut-off was at 94.20% in the third list, only slightly lower than the 94.40% of the second list. A similar drop was seen in BMS, which also closed at 94.20%. At KC College, BMS closed at 90%, and NM College at Vile Parle closed the list at 94%. The BMM course also saw a very marginal drop, with HR closing at 94.20% and St Andrew’s at 81.20%.

The BCom cut-offs also remained high, with HR closing it at 89%, RA Podar at 90% and KC at 92.80%.

While the third list cut-offs remained high in some colleges, others did not have any seats left to come out with a third list at all. At Hinduja College, there was no final list for any of its courses, while SIES College had no seats left for BMS. Ruia College had no list for BA or arts and commerce streams for BMM. KC had no list for the science students for BMM.

“Students applying for courses with limited seats in large numbers has resulted in the high cut-offs. The high scores of other boards have also added to the HSC students’ problems,” said Devyani Ganpule, vice principal, Ruia College.

The BA cut-offs saw a big drop, with St Andrew’s closing the list at 49.16% from the earlier 53.67%. KC’s list closed at 62%, while SIES kept BA open for all who applied.

Students have until 1.30pm from June 17 to 18 to confirm their admissions.
