Khar Residents Association (KRA) members visited home minister RR Patil to discuss the issue of the reconstruction of Khar police station, which is currently facing a huge space crunch and leakages during the monsoon.

The delegation put forth a request letter for the reconstruction. “The current Khar Police Station is located in an old nursery and lacks sufficient space,” said KRA general secretary Nitin Gadekar.

“We have requested the state to combine it with either an adjacent Mhada plot or with BMC health centre plot, so that the facility is bigger and better,” Gadekar added.

He said, “The home minister assured us of looking into the matter.”
