The ruckus created by the Opposition over the unequal allocation of development funds has led to several adjournments in the past two days.

Leader of Opposition Eknath Khadse said on Wednesday that the government’s decision to allot Rs10 crore each for constituencies held by ruling party MLAs was unprecedented in the history of the state.

On the first day of the session, the government allotted Rs10-12 crore for development work under various heads in the supplementary demand.

The Opposition alleged that the proposals should have been approved by the taluka and district-level officers.

The Opposition has held several meetings with chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and deputy chief and finance minister Ajit Pawar in the past few days. Chavan has assured the Opposition that there would be uniform distribution of funds. The constituencies of the MLAs from the Opposition parties are likely get Rs3 crore each.
