According to the education board, keeping the papers in colleges will reduce the possibility of the answer sheets getting misplaced, and will also help save time once the strike ends, as examiners will be able to start correcting papers immediately.

City colleges, however, are worried about the risk involved in safeguarding the papers for a long time.

Uncertain about the duration of the strike and with barely a watchman or two on their premises, colleges are wary of trouble-mongers.

Meanwhile, the strike disrupted the third-year BSc practical exams for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
