The Azad Maidan police detained the women and also seized some of the eggs from their possession.

According to the police, the three accused were being escorted to the police van around 12.15pm when the women started to shout slogans.

They then threw eggs at the accused. “We immediately took control of situation and seized the eggs. They were carrying at least three dozen eggs,” said Kantilal Kothimbire, inspector, Azad Maidan police station.

The women were detained by the police and were let off after the officials registered a diary note under relevant sections of the Bombay Police Act.
