After the Western and Central line, it was the turn of commuters travelling on the Harbour line to face disruption on Wednesday.
A rail fracture near Mankhurd at 11.52am caused 10-15 minutes delays on the CST - Panvel route. Authorities said the failure was restored by 12.:07pm.

"A Belapur local bound for CST was on the tracks, when the rail fracture at Mankhurd was detected at 11.52am. The fault was restored and services began by 12.07pm with speed of 10km per hour, which caused a delay of five-ten minutes for all trains plying in the afternoon. However, no cancellations were reported," said AK Singh, Public Relation Officer (PRO).

Commuters, however, complained that trains were delayed till evening on both the CST-Andheri and CST-Panvel sections. "The trains on the CST-Panvel route were running almost 15 minutes late and were very slow. As a cascading effect, trains on the CST-Andheri route were also late and over crowded," said Smita Lula, 37, Bandra resident.

With the rail fracture, city railway services were hampered for the third consecutive day.

On Monday, services on Western Railway were disrupted after a crow was electrocuted, while a unit defect on an Ambernath-bound fast local near Diva affected Central Railway services during peak hours on Tuesday.
