A 64-year-old man was arrested by the Matunga police on Saturday for allegedly passing indecent comments at a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) worker near Dadar (East) railway station. According to Shailaja Mhatre, 60, the man was behaving indecently with other women as well.

Mhatre was coming down the foot over bridge near the Hanuman temple at Dadar (West) when she spotted the person behaving indecently with two women in full public view. “The man touched two women in an indecent manner. The women did not retaliate and walked away. The man then came near me and passed lewd comments,” said Mhatre.

The police arrested the person, identified as Hasmukh Ganpat Barot, a resident of Azad Nagar in Wadala, under section 110 of Bombay Police Act for indecent behaviour in a public place. The accused will be produced before Bhoiwada court on Sunday.
