It states that along with the regular students, special category students such as hearing impaired, visually challenged, autistic, disabilities like cerebral palsy among others, will also have to study the new syllabus that will be implemented from this year.

The syllabus has been upgraded to bring it on par with the CBSE board.

But to make it easier for special students, the board has substituted the science subject with home science or health science, which will also be of 100 marks.

“This is a move towards inclusive education by the state board, it will benefit them,” said KB Patil, secretary of the board.

The syllabus of both these subjects has also been upgraded and changes have been incorporated in the textbooks as well. There is no change in the evaluation pattern. Like every year, students will have maths of Class 7 level.
