“The woman is talking to doctors and her relatives. She is slightly depressed. We are counselling her,” said Dr Taran Gianchandani, acting CEO and medical director of the hospital.

A senior forensic doctor from Nair Hospital reached Jaslok Hospital to guide the doctors on evidence collection.

“The woman’s nail, hair samples and clothes have been sent for forensic testing. They will help in identifying the accused,” said a doctor, requesting anonymity.

The survivor had reached the casualty department of Jaslok Hospital at 8pm on Thursday. The male colleague who accompanied her was not treated at the hospital.

“We are addressing the media only because it is a national issue, but the family wants their privacy to be respected,” said Dr Gianchandani.
