The bodies of a 19-year-old woman, Shaila Kantilal Pawar and her lover, 21-year-old Pramod Motiram Dhangar, were found in a field in Ambole village, Murbad. The couple had been missing since Saturday.

Police inspector Dilip Godbole from the Murbad police station said: “The police found a suicide note and an empty bottle of pesticide near the dead bodies.”

However, Pramod’s parents allege that Shaila’s parents and relatives abducted and murdered their son.

The police has registered a case of murder against seven members of Shaila’s family.

The police are collecting call and SMS records from the mobile phones of the couple and the mobile service provider. They will also send their viscera for chemical analysis, said Godbole.
