Teenager drowned in Filmcity lake, Mumbai

A teenager who was taking a bath at a lake in the film city in suburban Dindoshi drowned on Sunday, police said.


According to police, the deceased Raja Harijan (17) along with his six friends was chilling out in the film city and decided to have bath in a lake there.

They ventured into the lake this afternoon but Harijan, residing near Santoshi Nagar slums, went missing in the water.

Fire brigade personnel traced his body after three hours, Ashok Kadam, Inspector at Aarey Sub police station said.

The deceased was involved in cleaning of private vehicles. The body was rushed to Bhagwati hospital, Kadam said adding that no foul play was suspected in the case as of now. Further probe was on.
