Sonawane killed Vasant Mudira, a sweeper at the bar, Raja Dhakolia, a waiter, and Bhaskar Dalvi, a watchman, early on Saturday to avenge the constant harassment they would subject him to, said the police.

“Sonawane had been loitering around Girgaum Chowpatty since Saturday afternoon. He was planning to commit suicide before we caught him at 2am on Sunday,” said a police official.

Sonawane, who is from Yava-tmal, started work at the bar one-and-a-half months ago.
