A woman in Dombivli has alleged that her husband brutally tortured her when she refused to wear a burkha.
She has filed a complaint with the Vishnunagar police, who are looking for her husband and her in-laws.
“The 30-year-old woman works with an IT company in Mumbai. She has said that her husband tortured her mentally and physically by forcing her to have unnatural sex when she refused to wear a burkha,” inspector Arun Sonawane said.
The woman was married two years ago. Immediately after the wedding, her husband forced her to quit her job and began torturing her when she refused to wear a burkha.
When she complained about the torture to her in-laws, they sided with her husband, the woman told the police.
