Although many parts of the country, including belts in Maharashtra, have been enjoying a cool winter, Mumbaiites will have to wait for a few more days before temperatures fall again.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature at Santacruz – 19.5 degree Celsius — was 1.6 degrees above normal and at Colaba, the minimum temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius was 2.5 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature at Colaba and Santacruz was 33.4 degree Celsius and 33.8 degree Celsius respectively.

Officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that warm winds from the southern peninsula are governing the wind pattern.

“We don’t expect a major dip in the minimum temperature in the next two days. A western disturbance, that brings in cold winds across northern India is approaching from Afghanistan and that might influence the temperatures slightly,” said S Sudevan, director, IMD.
