Two executives, who are also cousins, working in a Gurgaon IT firm have been held for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl. Police said the girl had also tried to commit suicide twice since the alleged rapes before she finally gathered the courage to approach the police.

The accused duo — Naveen Singh Khetwal and his cousin Rajesh — stay in Sarojini Nagar. They were arrested immediately after the girl lodged her complaint on December 31.

"She told the police that she had first befriended Naveen through a social networking website in September 2011. Naveen introduced her to his cousin Rajesh," said an officer. But Rajesh sensed that she was close to his cousin and ended all association with her.

"On July 24, she said Naveen lured her to his friend's house near Sarojini Nagar where he forced her to consume a drink laced with sedatives before raping her. On September 7, he called her and said he wanted to part ways," the officer said.

Devastated by the break-up, the victim contacted Rajesh, who also raped her at his friend's house in Green Park.

The girl's first attempt at taking her life was on October 12, when Naveen abused her on the phone, claiming to have found out about her intimacy with his cousin. She again attempted suicide by slitting her wrists.

Her parents helped her approach the police after she was medically fit enough.
