A 38-year-old man was killed and four others, including his wife and two children, were injured after a clash broke out between two groups, both related to each other in outer Delhi's Kanjhawala on Sunday evening.

The police said both the groups clashed over an old property dispute, a matter which is being heard in the office of a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM).

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Salim and he was a labourer by profession. Those who were injured in the clash were identified as Salim's wife Munni, his son Habib and daughter Murshita. The fourth injured person was identified as Mohammad Fateh. He is the one with whom Salim and his family had a dispute over some ancestral property, said police.

According to a senior police officer, both the parties had hired a lawyer for pursuing their case before the SDM. On Sunday evening, Salim and Fateh had an argument over a payment to the lawyer.

Fateh wanted Salim to pay his part of payment to the lawyer but the latter was not ready for it. They entered into a verbal argument that soon turned into a violent clash which was later joined by their family members.

Five of them sustained injuries and were rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital where Salim was pronounced dead on arrival.
