Their modus operandi was similar to that shown in Special 26, a Hindi movie that hit the screens last week. Their targets, however, were not movie characters but unsuspecting shopkeepers in the city's north.

Police on Tuesday announced the arrest of four persons who would conduct fake raids at shops posing as CBI officials, just like in the movie that stars Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher. The police have also arrested two others who are said to have played parts in the crimes.

The police said the gang raided shops and took money from shopkeepers, assuring them that their cases would be sorted out. They travelled in a car with a red beacon.
