65-year-old man crushed to death

A 65-year-old man died and his wife was injured when they were hit by a speeding Santro car in south Delhi's Hauz Khas area on Wednesday night.

Police said the couple was walking towards their house from a nearby temple when they were hit by the car.

"BK Ahuja and Pratima Ahuja were returning from the temple when the car hit. A PCR van took them to AIIMS trauma centre. BK

Ahuja succumbed to his injuries later while the condition of his wife is said to be stable," said a senior police officer.

The car could not be traced but the police have arrested the man who was driving the car.

"Amit, brother of a senior Delhi government official, was arrested. Amit lost control over the car while speeding," the officer added. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.
