8-yr-old raped; protest at Jahangirpuri

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour on the terrace of a building at Jahangirpuri and the family and locals staged a protest on Tuesday in front of a police station and manhandled a police officer.


The girl, a class III student of Sri Guru Nanak School, was raped allegedly by her neighbour Atul after drugging her three days ago. He is absconding, police said.

The girl after coming from school had gone to the terrace where Atul offered her some sweets laced with sedatives. He then took her to the terrace of another building and allegedly raped her.

As the accused was absconding family and locals blocked GT Karnal road demanding his immediate arrest.

They also ransacked the house of the accused besides staging protests in front of Jahangirpuri police station where the station house officer was manhandled allegedly by the protesters.
