Coinciding with the 215th anniversary of the illustrious Urdu shayar, Mirza Ghalib, the annual candle light march would be taken out from Town Hall to Ghalib's Haveli at Gali Qasim Jaan in Old Delhi on Wednesday.

This is the 12th year celebration of the annual event organised by the Ghalib Memorial Movement. Ghalib was born on December 27, 1797.

Called as the annual pilgrimage by the likes of lyricist Gulzar, the celebrations would also have jalsa comprising quawwalis and mushaira. Kathak exponent Uma Sharma, writer and former diplomat Pavan K Varma and heritage activist Firoz Bakht Ahmed among others are associated with the movement.

"There would be few speeches and some shero-shayari at the haveli. Then the celebrations will move to Jeevan Ki Haveli at Kucha Patiram," said Uma Sharma.
