Arya orphanage authorities on Monday denied allegations of alleged sexual abuse in the children's home made by NGO Haq and the Delhi government's Child Welfare Committee (CWC). They said the NGO had vested interests.

Not only this, the management also suggested that the
11-year-old girl, who had died on December 24 of external injuries after being physically assaulted by a 14-year-old resident of the orphanage, was raped outside.

"The allegations are baseless. Delhi police and Delhi government have not even bothered to send us copy of the post-mortem examination or the report of CWC. We have got the report from the media. We will investigate it and take action," said Viresh Pratap Chaudhry, president of Arya Orphanage.

The organisation said a committee under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge should probe all allegations.

They accused police of torturing residents to get their statements recorded.

"The Delhi police was under pressure to crack the death of the 11-year-old. They do not have evidence that our student has done it. For all, you know the girl must have been raped at her house or when she had gone on vacation," he added.

The management said there might have been instances of boys peeping inside girls' hostel but the overall campus is safe.
