"The army is conducting a court of inquiry to investigate into the alleged irregularity in the Army Welfare Housing Organisation project at Kochi," Antony said.

He said inquiries had been ordered into eight cases of land scams during the last four years and also added that investigations were underway in six cases — the Kochi AWHO project, Adarsh housing project in Mumbai, Pune land case, issue of NOC by Srinagar defence estates officer, Pune Cantonment and Jodhpur cases.

He said the CBI had closed the Kandivili land scam after a preliminary inquiry, while action had been taken against erring officers in the Sukna case.
