The BJP has declared it would target home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for his RSS and right-wing Hindu terror remarks during the budget session.

Most BJP leaders are apprehensive that the government itself might want this controversy to play out for a few days so that other issues are eclipsed.

BJP leaders also feel that a concerted attack on Shinde in Parliament could be "misinterpreted" as an offensive against a dalit who is also the leader of the Lok Sabha.

RSS leaders have told BJP counterparts that the credibility of the Central Bureau of Investigation and National Investigation Agency had taken a hit and "no new evidence" had surfaced to nail any RSS leader including Indresh Kumar.

RSS leaders argued that the reported clean chit to Lt Col Srikant Purohit, an accused in 2008 Malegaon blast, by Army’s Court of Inquiry (CoI) "exposed" a deep-rooted conspiracy against the Hindu groups.
