BJP leaders will not be meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over dinner on Saturday following the death of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray in Mumbai.

Soon after news came of Thackeray having breathed his last following cardiac arrest in the afternoon, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj tweeted that the party leaders had cancelled the dinner the Prime Minister was to host for them.

“We have cancelled PM's dinner,” Sushma Swaraj said in a tweet.

Besides Sushma Swaraj, who is leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, party leader LK Advani and Arun Jaitley, leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, were expected to attend the dinner, arranged ahead of the winter session of parliament beginning November 22.
