The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Monday issued notices to city police and labour department, asking them to take action against a man who allegedly beaten a child employed by him to death and submit a report to it within a fortnight. The DCPCR issued the notice to
Secretary, Department of Labour, Delhi government; Chairman, Task Force on Child Labour (North-West); and Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West).

Moin, a child from Bihar working in a beedi unit in Bharat Nagar area of the city, died after allegedly being thrashed by his employer on Saturday night.

A DCPCR official said the commission has recommended to the authorities to file an FIR in the case under relevant sections of IPC, Bonded Labour Act, 1976 as well as the Juvenile Justice Act and proceed against the employer.

"We have asked them to submit an action-taken report to DCPCR within a fortnight," the official said.
