The CAG on Saturday said that it will decided on appearing before the local court which has issued summons to him to appear as witness on a complaint filed by Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy in the 2G spectrum case.

"We have not received the document. After we receive we will decide how to go about it", the spokesperson of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) said when asked whether CAG would appear alongwith another official as witness in the court.

Special CBI Judge Pradip Chaddah on Friday evening sought presence of the CAG Vinod Rai and official, R P Singh, in the court on February 5 to depose as witnesses in the 2G spectrum case.

Sources indicate that summons are of technical nature and it is likely that CAG might depute an advocate to testify the auditor's report on 2G spectrum which was signed by Rai and Singh.

The order came on a private complaint by Swamy seeking registration of a criminal case against former telecom minister A Raja for his alleged role in the scam, which, according to the CAG, caused a presumptive loss of Rs. 1.76 lakh crore to the exchequer.
