The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Border Security Force (BSF)’s chief medical officer, along with his aide — a head constable with the paramilitary organisation — for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe to certify a job applicant fit on health grounds.
Dr SK Shah was arrested in Delhi by a CBI anti-corruption unit while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the job applicant — the complainant.
“The doctor had demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000, of which Rs. 20,000 was to be paid as part-payment,” said a CBI officer who is not authorized to talk to the media.
Head constable Narendra Kumar had earlier contacted the complainant on “behalf of the Dr Shah” to demand the bribe the officer added.
