CSDS celebrates golden jubilee

The Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), on Saturday, organised a panel discussion titled- 'Life of the Mind in Public'- to mark its golden jubilee celebrations.

The panel discussion saw many eminent panelists, including Prof Shahid Amin, Sudhir Chandra, Satish Deshpande and Ashish Nandi, discussing various challenges and contradictions of living the life of the mind in public and its relevance in the present times.

In his opening remarks, Rajeev Bhargava, director, CSDS, said, "The biggest achievement of the Centre is that it has been able to pursue scholarship and research independent of government and economic forces."
