After a brief spell of warmth on Saturday, cold winds are back in the city following rain and snow in the northern parts of India. The temperature on Sunday morning was recorded at 6.3 degree Celsius, one degree below normal and the maximum was at 18.4 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal.

The minimum on Saturday was recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum was recorded at 18.9 degree Celsius.

According to the Met Department, the minimum temperature will drop further in the coming few days.

"Whereas Sunday's minimum temperature was recorded at 6.3 degree, that on Monday and Tuesday will be around 5 degrees and 4 degrees, respectively," said a Met department official.

He said that the dip is expected due to cold winds coming from northern India. Mild fog is expected on Monday and Tuesday due to cold nights and warm days.
