The Competition Commission of India (CCI) would initiate a probe if Yash Raj Films, Bollywood’s leading production company founded by late Yash Chopra, indulged in any monopolistic practices as alleged by actor-turned-producer Ajay Devgn, sources said.

Seeking the intervention of the anti-trust watchdog, Devgn alleged that YRF was using its dominant position to put pressure on the exhibitors to give prominence to its upcoming film Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) over his Son of Sardaar.

Both the films are set for a Diwali release on November 13. Considering the old rivalry between Shah Rukh Khan and Devgn, the clash is touted as one of the biggest in recent Bollywood history. The complaint was filed on October 18 — three days before Chopra’s death — the notice was served on Chopra’s son, Aditya, on Wednesday.
