Unable to trace the culprit so far, the police have roped in an NGO for counselling the seven-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted at a municipal school in Mangolpuri.

Police sources said the step was taken after the victim failed to tell the police convincingly the sequence of events on the day she was assaulted. They said she had been giving contradictory statements.

The minor girl was assaulted in a classroom in the Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya on Thursday.

A senior police officer said the NGO will help the child overcome the trauma and the police to communicate with her better.

"She has not been able to recall what exactly happened that day. Sometimes, she says she was sexually assaulted in a classroom and then she claims that the incident took place inside a toilet. She has given varying physical descriptions of the accused," said a senior police officer.

Meanwhile, the police on Saturday prepared a sketch of the accused on the basis of the information provided by the girl. Though police are not sure that the sketch resembles the actual culprit, they have circulated copies of it in Mangolpuri area.

In the past three days, cops have questioned around 200 hundred people, including the staffers of the school and local residents. Five persons, including a teacher and watchman, who were picked up for questioning on Friday, were questioned for the third consecutive day on Sunday.
