Delhi gang-rape trial: no mercy for merciless: prosecutor

Four men convicted of gang raping and murdering a student on a New Delhi bus last December deserve the death penalty, the prosecution argued Wednesday as the judge considered the sentence.

"The sentence which is appropriate is nothing short of death," special public prosecutor Dayan Krishnan told the court, arguing that the case had shocked "the collective conscience".
